PRODUCT DETAILS
On July 20, 1969, the crew of NASA’s Apollo 11 made history, becoming the first manned spaceflight to land on the moon.
Launched July 16, 1969, the spacecraft carried Commander Neil A. Armstrong, Command Pilot Michael Collins, and Lunar Module Pilot Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin.
At 4:18pm EDT on July 20, while the entire world held its breath, Eagle 1, the lunar landing craft, safely touched down. Several hours later, Armstrong and Aldrin became the first humans to stand on the moon while Collins orbited above.
Individually numbered and encased in a lacquered Baltic birch box, this Limited-Edition AG-7 pen and pen holder set debuted in 2014 to mark the 45th anniversary of the moon landing. Featuring a stunning Dark Matter Black Titanium Nitride finish with chrome accents, this AG-7 has a unique, full-body laser-engraved design commemorating the 1969 moon landing.
The crystal pen holder is a stunning addition to your desk. The clear crystal globe contains an engraving of Eagle 1. The blue base is engraved with an astronaut’s footprint on the moon, mission flight times, and Neil A. Armstrong’s famous quote from the moment he first set foot on the moon.
All Astronaut Pens are proudly produced in the USA! Each is made of solid brass with hard chrome plating, giving it a solid feel in your hand as you write. They also feature a unique clicking mechanism that extends the point via the button on the top, with a release button on the side to retract it. This side button has a substantial sound and feel to it, ensuring that you will always remember to retract the point before sliding the pen back into your pocket.
Astronaut Pens have been used on all NASA Apollo and Space Shuttle missions, the International Space Station, Russian Soyuz and MIR space flights, the French ARIANE Space Program, and the Everest North Face Ski Expedition. They are packaged in our heavy-duty gift box with flock lining, and each comes with a guarantee and a pamphlet describing the history of Fisher Space Pen.
